What is
Polished Concrete?
Polishing concrete is similar to sand wooding. To polish a concrete floor, heavy-duty machines are used to grind the concrete over and over again until it has the desired degree of shine and smoothness. These heavy-duty machines are equipped with diamond-segmented abrasives. As the polishing process continues, coarse diamond grits turn to finer grits. The concrete polishing process also includes using a hardener. It is this hardener that makes the floor hard and dustproof. Concrete polishing is a green flooring system, and LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) approved. This makes it safe for humans and pets alike.
